Many casinos will have poker rooms available for both tournament and standard play formats.
  • Blackjack: As a banked game, blackjack players are working to beat the bank (“The House”) rather than the other players at the table. Also called “21,” the goal of blackjack is to score a hand that is both higher than the dealer’s total and does not pass a value of 21.
  • Slot machines: Slot machines take up the most physical space at casinos, but this is because they remain incredibly popular, accounting for more than two-thirds of casino revenue at most facilities. The first machines were actually invented in San Francisco in the late 1800s.
